The fantastic story of the ninja kid called Naruto Uzumaki has been shown in the very popular 220 animated series of Naruto episodes that has today become a household name due to its rising popularity.
The popular series which was first shown on TV Tokyo is an on screen adaptation of the Masashi Kishimoto’s 1997 series which came on the Japanese indigenous comics called manga. The animated series which was an on screen adaptation of the comic series of the same name in 1997 was created by Masashi Kishimoto and became popular in the US when Viz Media released it there.
TV Tokyo showed Naruto animation series between October 2002 to February 2007 in Japanese and cartoon network broadcast the series through its division called toonami. With the series soon climbing the popularity charts cartoon network brought the series to its main channel to cater to its vast fan following.
The story unfolds in Konohagakure, one among the 5 great Shinobi nations in the Naruto world. It is one among the five great Shinobi nations and it is here where Naruto engages in all kinds of mischief trying to prove his bravery and expertise in ninja. The boy has a great vision to reach the post of Hokage which will bring him up to the level of the country’s rulers. The different characters in the Naruto episodes blend in beautifully with the story’s theme and have become very popular too particularly Naruto’s friends Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno.
Bionix and another channel Jetix UK also aired the Naruto episodes. The animated Naruto episodes though based on the original comic series also added some colorful events and tales of its own. But by Jan 2009 Naruto’s 209th episode was aired and since then there has been no broadcast of the series. Fans are hopeful that rumors of Viz resuming the telecast of the popular series will be confirmed soon.
It was obvious that the producers would not let die the cartoon icon which had created waves by then and so they have brought out DVDs with the Naruto episodes. These have the series as such with minimum changes incurred. In fact there are also DVDs that showcase the special scenes – the finest moments of the Ninja kid. Further around 135 Naruto episodes have been compressed into a single disc titled ‘Naruto The Best Scene’. The episodes can also be watched online on video sharing sites and myspace, youtube etc. Naruto has also been immortalized in a movie version which is great news for all diehard fans of the Naruto episodes and escapades.
